This cycle of poems and songs has developed over 18 months of collaboration between Clare and acoustic singer songwriter Penni Mclaren Walker.

Penni Mclaren Walker

Clare and Penni met in Cambridgeshire at The Red Lion Folk Club and discovered they had some complementary new poems and songs. This has become collaboration between a poet and a singer songwriter both inspired by the Landscape of East Anglia.

The cycle is a meditation on the natural world, creativity, belonging and loss and in the best acoustic tradition becomes a ballad of the Fen, which is universal. In performance it traces a spiritual journey and is a celebration of the elemental. Piloted at The Babylon Gallery in Ely it was described as 'inspirational', 'most memorable' , 'beautiful', and 'voices to hear by the ocean'.

Along with the mandolin player Bryan Causton, Fen Song is currently organising a tour of rural venues in the Eastern Arts region.
